Ruidoso - Adaptive Sports

Skidoso Day 6 (Friday)

Sadly, our last day on the mountain with Ski Apache Adaptive Sports has come to an end. Kids from the Mescalero Apache tribe came today. It was a small group so we had to double up with ski students. After finishing up our day we all came back to our housing to get ready for our farewell dinner with the wonderful coaches of SAAS.

We went to a unique little coffee house for dinner where there was live music and also an open mic. Three of us decided to show off our talents by performing. Shelbey performed spoken word and Emiley Roth and Mickey sang!

The night is ending with packing and cleaning up the church to prepare for our early departure tomorrow morning. Next stop Edmond, Oklahoma!

Now to the part that you’re all waiting for, the results of the Crash count competition! Coming in 4th was Brendan with 9 crashes, tied for 2nd was Austin and Kaylie with 10 crashes, and taking home the bacon with the number 1 spot was Paul with a total of 13 crashes! This is all great and fun, however, there is another award and that goes to Ryan for the best yard sale. We just learned this slang term today and it means that someone crashes so badly that their skis and poles go flying everywhere. Now Ryan went above and beyond and also managed to lose her helmet and chap stick which was inside her pocket! Congratulations to our esteemed winners!
