Taos - Habitat for Humanity (2)

Blog #2

Today, we started working on the 29th Habitat for Humanity house in Taos. Students from the University of California-Berkeley are serving and living with us this week. Based on their impressions of us, they declared Mizzou to be better than UC-Berkeley. Both groups worked well together. We accomplished a lot today. The house is almost finished; therefore, we have been doing the finishing touches. This included making a sidewalk, painting, plastering, and carpentry.  A woman from the neighborhood, who had previously earned a Habitat house, brought us homemade banana bread and thanked us for serving Taos. We finally got to meet the infamous Boots, the friendly neighborhood dog and Quality Control Manager. He's nice but afraid of strangers. We hope to be able to pet him by the end of the week. Thus far, he only accepts food offerings from us.  We are looking forward to working and meeting the homeowner tomorrow.
