1/14/15
Our week is half way done! While it is exciting to look back and see all of the good that we have done, it is also rather sad to know we will soon be leaving Love In Action and those we have come to know!
Along with helping the clients through the pantry area, we have been doing lots of hands on labor that the Love In Action founder, Gail, has wanted done for quite some time! We spent the day painting shelves a bright red to give the room a pop of color, building supports for the shelving that holds canned goods, and sorting through many, many boxes of donated clothing and goods for the thrift store.
Following our time at Love In Action, we ventured once again to Cafe du Monde. Our group loves this place! This is the second time we have gone for beignets and coffee since our free day, and we all agree that they are something special! We also took time to explore the farmer's market and French Quarter. Unfortunately, after returning to the church we are staying at for dinner, we found our spaghetti nearly all burned to a crisp...apparently it isn't wise to make pasta in a crock pot!
Our group with Gail!
