Guin, AL SEC Compact - Habitat for Humanity (Post 6)

Today was a good day.  We started off the morning with delicious, freshly baked cinnamon rolls before we headed to the work site for another day of service.  We began by working on final touches on the roof to allow the roofing crew to complete construction.  Also, we expanded the trench running around the work site to allow water to drain from the property.  We cleaned up scrap from around the work site and cleaned the brush from the edge of the property.  After taking group pictures, Site Leaders Joe and Elise spoke with Elizabeth, who is Miss Tennessee Valley, about Habitat for Humanity and Alternative Spring Break.  Her philanthropy is Habitat for Humanity and she is working to expand these projects to high school chapters in order to get high school students more interested in service.  After lunch, we put up support beams in the interior of the office building and continued cleaning up the site.  For dinner, we were honored to eat with members of the Mount Olive Free Will Baptist church.  Our group once again enjoyed a great nightly reflection and many laughs.  I am incredibly proud of how close the group has gotten.  They are truly 11 of the best people I have had the honor to meet.  All in all, today was a good day.
