We are Alternative Break – SEC Compact. This year, twelve students embarked on an adventure to Guin, Alabama. This journey begins in the great city of Columbia. We all gathered Friday night for Shakespeare’s Pizza and a night of cards. It was the start of a beautiful journey. We set out for the open road Saturday morning at 9:30 in our two vehicles, the Dark Knight and Mini. On our way, we stopped by Elise’s parents for a delicious lunch. We switched seats during each stop and we grew into a single group, a family. The journey that followed this lunch included a lot of twists and turns. Due to a turn of fate, coupled with very careful driving, we landed in Memphis. There is no better place to stop for barbeque than Beal Street’s Blue City Café. We delighted ourselves in Memphis’s finest ribs and fries. Delicious J With our bellies full and our minds set on our site, we set out on the final leg of our trip. We ended our thirteen hour drive in Alabama. We were elated to meet Teressa and finally be in our site to serve. Time to sleep. We are excited to see what will happen in the upcoming weeds and during our Alternative Break.
