Houston-Health

Today was a magical day! Well to start off...The one bed-room apartment we are staying in, got a little warm last night. So, Lexie and Allea decided to sleep on the balcony. At 3am, there was a wind storm and almost got blown off the balcony. Thankfully they decided to come in the apartment and sleep on the kitchen floor.

Today, we successfully went to the beach, but with the 40 mile per hour winds and 58 degree weather, it did not turn out as planned. Wind and sand blowing from every direction limited our time. Chris and Adam were brave enough to get a running start into the ocean, but came out freezing. Matt found his new best friend, Greg, who is also a crab. The crab traveled with us while shopping at The Strand (Downtown Galveston). Eventually, Greg got thrown back into the ocean. In the early afternoon we got on a 45 minute Ferry ride through the ocean. We saw dolphins!

After coming back to the apartment, we decided to start making dinner. However, the boys couldn't figure out how to turn the flames on. So, Lexie and Kim went to see if they could help and what do ya know...The gas pipe wasn't turned on. We got the grilling done 2 hours later, no big deal. But let us say, those veggie dogs inflated on the grill.

Even though today was our free day, we are extremely excited to start volunteering in the city of Houston!! Look forward to tomorrows blog and our first volunteering experience as "Houston We Have A Problem"
