ASB Dallas – Day 1
After some expert packing and a quick "Call Me Maybe jam" sesh (the first of many), we piled into the cars Saturday morning to leave for Dallas, Texas! Along with enough snacks to feed us for the whole week, we stuffed four of us into the Dodge and 7 into the "Burb/Burban/Black Beauty," in which Norah gained celebrity/soccer mom status.

We set off on our adventure, stopping in Joplin to look at the tornado damage left behind from almost a year before. We felt proud that MU has an ASB group helping out there this week. We grabbed lunch and raced into Oklahoma, which, it turns out, looks a lot like Missouri: flat fields with plenty of cows. Thus, the twitter mania and cabin fever set in. Rose tweeted a total of 50 times throughout the day (WHAT is our hashtag going to be?!?!), and Liz and Norah began chatting about dinosaurs in British accents and playing "air piano" while driving (as Regan and I flew around and catch some air in the backseat…no big). Those in the Dodge got to know Rose's younger teenage angsty self through her emo mixes and Evan tried to show off his wealth to the highway toll man (can you break a hundy?).

FINALLY, we crossed into Texas! Woooo!! We sped into Dallas and were wowed by the hugeness of the city (everything's bigger in Texas, of course). We arrived at our home for the week, the second floor of two story house in the middle of an all Hispanic neighborhood. Cannot wait to eat at one of the Mexican restaraunts down the street. By 11 pm, we settled into the penthouse, went on a Walmart run, and made nicely crispy (burnt ;-) pizzas in our homey little kitchen. It didn't take long before…zzzzzzzzzz…

Stay tuned!
