Foley Work Day 3

Dear Diary,
Best spring break EVER!!!!!! Today we got up bright and early and headed to another construction site, this time with one house. On the agenda was painting trim for the house, roofing, and digging yet another ditch…this time TWENTY feet long and THREE feet deep. The boys broke a sweat and got swoll…with a little help from the girls. It was a long day and everyone was happy when it was quittin’ time…yet we couldn’t have been prouder of all of our hard work for the day. Our site leader helped us and our Americorp “co-workers” close the day by reflecting on what we had learned through the day’s work. Once our horribly taxed bodies entered the black stallion and the silver bullet, we played a game we called occupy “Stacey’s Pharmacy.” At said pharmacy, we spoiled ourselves to an assortment of ice-cream treats including cones, sundaes, and shakes. When our stomachs were thoroughly satisfied, we retired to the church to be treated by an old fashioned country cooking by a nice woman and her daughter from the church. Many laughs and giggles were exchanged.

After dinner, the group headed to the local outlet mall to “frat up” at the polo store and get “rad” outfits at TJ Maxx. Many of the groups hard earned money was blown in one fowl swoop. At the end of the night we all sat down to write this blog here, which is what we are doing right now. I would love to write more but I am literally writing what is happening at the present moment. Catch ya on the flip side homie.
