DALLAS-HIV/AIDS

Two of ASBDTex's all-stars (Rose and Norah) were the first to rise from their slumber and luxury air mattresses early this morning, to ensure the future safety of all of the trips' participants by changing the oil in the 'Burb. And by changing the oil, I mean having our friend Felix at Firestone change the oil.

After Norah was unfortunately led astray by a silver Lexus that looked strikingly similar to the Dodge Caravan Rose was whipping around (#wishfulthinking), the two made it back to the Bungalow safe and sound.

Though the rest of the group felt extreme, severe and even mildly crippling separation anxiety until Norah and Rose re-joined the group, all 11 ASBDTex-ers were reunited at AIDS Arms, where everyone was given various tasks to complete.

Matt and Liz were assigned to condom duty (use your imagination), and Katee, Rebecca & Audra took on some administrative duties. While Katee was extremely proud of her organizational abilities, the group came to a consensus that her inability to understand a simple copy/staple contraption may prevent her from obtaining a respectable occupation in the near future.

Back down on the party floor 5th floor, Mark and Regan attempted to the set the Guinness World Record for fundraiser t-shirt folding and ribbon tying. We're waiting to hear back form the Guinness panel…Meanwhile, Norah diligently cut t-shirts to prepare for an abnormally large quilt and, somehow, Rose figured out how to work a hot iron despite not possessing any domestic skills…whatsoever. Oh yes, our other fearless leader, Evan, exercised his impeccable alphabetizing skills. ASBDTex's all-star, Tom, whipped up a Van Gogh collage (with a little bit of Andy Warhol inspiration) that will hang in the front lobby of AIDS Arms. As we say, it pays to be Tom.

The late afternoon was spent strolling around the Bishop Arts District, just a few blocks away from the Bungalow. Rose managed to get her bank account frozen and Rebecca spent an exorbitant amount of money on a nautilus shell. You can't get those everywhere ya know! Later in the evening, the group headed to Hunky's to nom on some sweet, savory, and scrumptious burgers that satisfied everyone's starved stomachs.

Tomorrow, the team is heading back to Resource Center Dallas and Abounding Prosperity. And, you know what Thursday means….T-SHIRT THURSDAY! We'll be running around the Dallas area in matching outfits (possibly joutfits), so if you're in the metroplex area keep an eye out for us. We'll be handing out condoms…lots of them…so call us (maybe) if you're in need!
