Charleston - Children with Special Needs

Friends and Family of ASB Charleston,

After a 15 hour fun-filled drive we have arrived here in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina! The rainy weather didn't stop us from having a great Saturday. Our trip was filled with snacks, naps, laughter, bathroom breaks and exciting games (including Scene It trivia questions, riddles, "Would you rather", and more). Our exceptional hosts in Nashville, Tennessee provided us with a warm, delicious breakfast this morning. This was immediately before we checked the weather in Charleston and realized we would be head-to-head with severe thunderstorms. To be safe, our wonderful site leaders Caleb and Liz decided to book a hotel room for the night. Before arriving at the hotel we drove to Rainbow Row and walked around in awe of the exceptionally beautiful houses and scenery. We could smell the ocean air and feel the humidity as we made our way through the cobblestone streets. We ate at a delicious local pizza restaurant for dinner and consumed three massive pizzas, and then headed back to the hotel where we are currently cramped into a room with one king sized bed (and some floor space for sleeping bags). Our group of 12 is becoming closer and closer (literally) as we prepare for our work later in the week. Stay tuned for further updates! (And keep an eye on the weather!)
