Youth_Salt Lake City - Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

Tuesday

Our day started out rough, with miscommunication between the organization we planned on working with, but like the rest of our trip…. Be Gumby! We were given a chance to work with a different nonprofit called, Elevated Mountain Guides. While they needed our help, they didn't need us until a little later. We took this time as an opportunity to see the city a little and saw the Mormon temple. This was a chance to see something that is so well known all across the country. After, we headed to our service site and met Nikki, Errik, and Nola (a cute doggo).

Elevated Mountain Guides is a nonprofit that needed help in itemizing, packing, and blogging to get ready for their trip to Peru on Friday. This doesn't seem like youth empowerment; however, they really focus on teaching kids and younger people life skills of climbing and medicine. After splitting up the team some of us played with the Nola (the cute doggo, in case you forgot!), writing itemized lists of donations, and blogging for their website. This was a great day for "Communicating Love", they were so nice and appreciative for the help, they were also just a great example of communicating love between each other.
