Day 1: Sunday

First of all, we have to give a HUGE shout-out to the congregation at the Guin United Methodist Church who welcomed us into their family today. From a RIDICULOUSLY amazing breakfast, to treating us to lunch, MAB has been welcomed to Guin, Alabama with some fantastic Southern Hospitality! Today, we walked around downtown, met with community members, and got acquainted with the area we will be serving this week. Finding the hidden gem of Natural Bridge Park and hiking with the park dog, Roxy, was definitely the highlight of the day. Later in the night we were invited to a youth rally with all of the county's youth groups. Will was able to speak to the audience about the seven principles of MAB. We're all super excited to get started tomorrow; serving a community that has already made us feel like family!

Day 2: Monday

Today we were introduced to Tina, operator of the Weldy House for Girls. We began our service by cleaning up the apartment on the top floor for the House Parents. When that was cleared out, we repainted the entire apartment husky grey. We also rearranged the girls' playroom to create a more fun environment. For lunch, Tina and the former House Mother provided the group with a delicious meal that we all devoured. After lunch, we headed back up to the apartment to finish painting. When we were almost done, we got the chance to meet the three girls that currently live in the house. Everyone we worked with today was very grateful and appreciative for our service, and we were just as grateful to serve them. We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
