Our trip to La Plata, Mo., was probably one of the shortest car rides any MAB group has done. Within an hour and twenty minutes after leaving Columbia, MAB Adair was parking in front of the La Plata Food Pantry -- our first service site.
There we met Carlos, a volunteer at the Food Pantry. That facility serves about 180 people from several counties. It's a small place but it's packed with all sorts of food items -- including many, many packs of Oreos.
We had the chance to clean up part of the pantry and paint one of the walls a beautiful bright red. The new color definitely brought a lot of life to the place! We're so happy we met Carlos and other people who serve their community, like Arlene and Scott. We're definitely hoping we can come back in the future!
