Charleston--Children Day 5

To the ones who have been interested in us giving back,

Today was our last and final day to hang out with our wings leaders and show them our appreciation for all their support and love they showed us the last three days.  For a nice gathering we went to Kickin' Chicken were we had lunch and got to talk outside our "work conversations." Following that we had the opportunity to show them our gratitude, and went around Charleston doing random acts of kindness for MLK day.  They were in a competition with other surrounding schools with a point value for each act they did.   Some of these acts of kindness consisted of picking up trash around the surrounding neighborhoods where a few of us got to see our kids in our nests for the last time and cherish the last memory with them. Also, holding open doors for strangers that thought "we were about to mug him" and high five-ing strangers while explaining to them what the random acts of kindness were for.  When the day was coming to a disappointing end we wrapped things up with our new family (wings leaders) by sitting through an unexpected awards ceremony.  Each leader gave the MABers a certificate for volunteering with some generous, enduring words, where in exchange we gave them a little note explaining how grateful we were to get this kind of opportunity to work with such a heart warming program.  Through experience I can personally say that Wings as a whole will be missed through the memories that will last us a lifetime.  As we start packing up to head back to Atlanta tomorrow all of us are replaying all the memories that impacted our hearts and the stories we were told that changed our thought process in life. Charleston will be missed by everyone, and we all hope that someday soon we get come back and relive our tears, smiles, and laughs.
Until tomorrow…
