Hi friends, family, and fans!
Today we volunteered at The Hub which is a place that serves the homeless and mentally ill population in Billings. We each had the chance to complete some structured tasks to better the organization, like sorting clothing or making lunch, but the majority of the day was spent hanging out with people who were at The Hub. We taught the Cupid Shuffle, played Apples to Apples, and a variety of card games. Our group really got to connect with the people we served and took away more about the situations each person has. Today taught us the importance of having a support system and recognizing that people are just one trauma away from being homeless or mentally ill. Our reflection tonight about everything each of us experienced with different individuals today was amazing and we are looking forward to the rest of the week where we get to serve more of the homeless population in Billings.
