Atlanta - Animals

Hello Blog Reading Peoples,
Today, on our last day of service, we spent the day at Small Dog Rescue. What a rough life, playing with puppies all day long! With a lot more hands-on activity, the Atlanimals were able to clean out a rat poop-ridden garage, mulch the front yard, trim the bushes, and walk and play with puppies all day long. We were ready for our dog fix after a few days with the wonderful Furkids cats. We learned that 100,00 sheltered animals are put to sleep each year in Georgia, and many of the shelters have a 90 percent kill rate for their animals. Both Furkids and Small Dog Rescue work hard every day to combat this statistic. Both organizations have programs set up to find healthy families looking to foster and adopt their precious animals. Furkids even has a program to create a loving culture for feral cats to eventually acclimate to cat-loving homes. The Atlanimals are so thankful for both organizations hosting us this week. ADOPT, ADOPT, ADOPT!

See you tomorrow!
