Everything we need to know we learned in Alabama…
Early means on time, on time means late, and if your late don’t show. Nicholas and Marty were introduced to this classic life lesson as they awoke and prepared approximately 12 minutes before departure needing double-digit honks to rendezvous with their AWBamily.
Everyone wants to know what you wish to be when you grow up. Molly is a loud and proud ceramics architect, a fine fine arts major, and smiles with a sense of bliss and regality not seen in many. She will be successful because success is measured in the immeasurable determinants of happiness and contentment, qualities jolly miss Molly shows no signs of lacking.
Adventures to unknown lands are a delight. Joanne found pleasure in the winterless wonderland of The University of Alabama campus. Whether it be the four buildings surviving the trials and tribulations of a divided nation or the future cement prints of custom size 23 cleats, the Crimson Tide showed our group a hospitable and joyous journey through campus.
The spotlight isn’t for everyone. Rachael is just a tad camera shy but we don’t mind. What she lacks in the performing arts she makes up for it in countless other areas. Cole and Taaj, always up for a public display of pro Mizzou articulation stepped up to the plate and put our university on the Interstate media Map.
Sports are fun… mmK! Sean highly enjoyed the tour of Bryant Denny Stadium as the class and excellence of the acclaimed 14 time National Champion football team was displayed before our group. Apparently the “Only” requirements to receive a statue out front are bring home one measly championship to the land of Dixie. MIZ- When’s B Ball?
Mansions are better than apartments… just barely. Lauren burst with excitement as an impressive Greek dish was served to the clique in the form of Sorority and Fraternity royalty. It’s a safe bet that The University of Alabama’s Greek life is in a state of expansion and triumph as who can resist being within limping distance of the famed football stadium, class, and more night life than South Beach.
If you look good, you feel good. Although no one fully understands Cole’s scarf obsession, we respect it and understand that everyone suffers from some form of addiction. Luckily our beloved Teresa managed to control his fix and provided our organization with ample gift and personal shopping opportunities in an area still improving from devastation and in need of assistance. After all, that is why were here.
Cupcakes cure all. Every time Taaj opens her mouth the world becomes a bit brighter and laughter reigns supreme as she is always nothing short of a delight. Cupcakes only enhance this characteristic as she is a self-proclaimed, “Cupcake Connoisseur.” As far as we know her art gallery worthy desert tasted just as rich and masterful as it looked, providing what is sure to be memorable nourishment.
Eyes are often, but not always, bigger than the stomach. Alicia managed to clean her plate at the skeptically named but delectable Boar’s Butt Barbecue. How this feat was accomplished still baffles the majority, but desert and all (thanks Cole) were devoured in the loveliest and highly lady life fashion. When your right, your right. When your hungry, eat.
Corny celebrations are a necessity. Whether it be the MCAT, LSAT, or physics 1200, there is no shame in celebrating an A with the enthusiasm of kids in a candy store. We are so proud of Emily and her academic accomplishments and are praying the rest of us will soon find we are as fortunate and diligent as her in our scholarly goals.
And finally, there is no better way to end an evening than a rambunctious sing along in a crowded space. We aren’t tenors, altos, basses, or sopranos but a cheesy radio song is all required to get the group to join in a beautiful chorus line. When arriving home for a little rest and relaxation there is nothing better than having someone Call Me… … … Maybe.
Everything I REALLY need to know I learned in kindergarten. For everything else, there’s Alabama. Although we have several health ailments but a case of the Mondays was not in the diagnosis for my lovely and lively AWBamily. The tour of campus, shopping, and evening meal were delectable and provided memories sure to last a lifetime. Today was a celebration, and tomorrow we begin work. It is always better to give than to receive, and tomorrow we will put that mantra to the test and are expecting our jobsite and crew to produce a positive and conclusive result J!
