Cincinnati-Homelessness

Today we went to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Jaime was excited to use power tools and other girls got to destroy a toilet. Charles got to take apart three chandeliers. Our main purpose in taking apart these objects was to sort the metal so the ReStore could use the money from scraping it for the habitat houses. Zach had a brief run in with an air conditioner and Freon but all ended well. Steve was our main person from Habitat that worked with us today. He is there for Americorp and explained to us about the program. It was interesting to learn about the actual building of housing. The down payment for houses is 500 hours of sweat equity.

After learning a lot about metal and their magnetic properties we headed back home. At the house we cooked breakfast for dinner. We had French toast, pancakes, hash browns, and eggs. After that, we toured the University of Cincinnati. Most of our trip found the campus to be more similar to Mizzou than Xavier. We all enjoyed our time.
