Our trip to New Orleans, Louisiana is officially complete! Leaving Friday night, we had a wonderful stop in Portageville, MO where we stayed with the Darst family for midway housing. Not only did we get beds for a good pre-travel rest, but we were met with pizza, brownies and world-famous spinach-artichoke dip! After enjoying a delicious breakfast prepared by the master chefs themselves (pictured below), we were off on our way for our drive to NOLA.
After a day of driving, jamming out to the likes of Miley Cyrus and Eric Church (Brandon's favorite), we finally arrived to Grace Lutheran Church in New Orleans where we will stay for the week. After getting settled in, we did some grocery shopping and enjoyed our first authentic NOLA cooking with some Shrimp Po Boys as we watched the Jayhawks…give it their best effort (Sorry Libby and Caileigh). Tomorrow we will be exploring New Orleans in our free day as we prepare for our week of service ahead. Stay tuned for updates!
