Gulfport - Habitat for Humanity

COMING AT YOU LIVE FROM GULFPORT MISSISSIPPI!

We started off our trip with a free day in New Orleans.  A dozen and a half donuts later and we were on our way!  After a near death experience in the parking garage we headed to the French quarter fo' some Po' Boys.  10/10 would recommend.  Our next stop was Jackson Square where we saw some killer art and Andrew Jackson (a statue of him).  A large crowd caught our attention from across the street.  THE DRAGON MASTER SHOWCASE WAS PERFORMING! We watched in awe as they flipped and hopped all around.  Check out the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkO4_8Jshnw CafĂ© Du Monde was the last stop of the day.  Besides being attacked by a flock of pigeons in the restaurant, the world famous beignets were delectable. What a day!

For the past two days, we have had the privilege of working on a Habitat for Humanity home in Pascagoula, Mississippi.  The Mississippi Gulf Coast Habitat has built over 1,000 homes since Katrina hit the area.

The house we are working on is nearly complete, so we are putting on the finishing touches.  We caulked, sawed, nailed, and hammered our days away.  IT HAS BEEN INCREDIBLE!  Mr. Ken, the site supervisor, has taught us so many things. His construction expertise is almost as good as his jokes.  We are learning so much and enjoying all of the people we meet in the area.
