New Orleans 1 - Habitat for Humanity

Day 7: LAST DAY

Today, we awoke to an abundance of rain and lightning. After arriving at our sight, we split up into groups to work on our house. Some worked on the outside, while others worked on flooring in the inside of the house. After a couple hours of hard work, the weather forced all of us to move indoors. After an exciting photo shoot with our sick MAB shirts, we realized that our car was halfway underwater. We were released early, and Mike and Kristy managed to get us back to the safety of the church. We then proceeded to take a much-needed nap after a long, but fun week of work. For dinner, we prepared our own version of New Orleans Cajun food. Everyone worked together to make the best dinner we’ve had this week. The day was completed with brownies and a nice heart to heart reflection. Everyone shared their experiences with the trip and showed their appreciation for their new friends.

Peace out New Orleans
