IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THIS BLOG MORE INTERESTING, READ ALOUD IN A BRITISH ACCENT!!!! OR YOUR BEST IMPRESSION OF DONALD TRUMP. Either one works.
Today started out like every other day. There were a lot of snoozed alarms, meals made for the road and Mom & Dad yelling at us to “Catch the Van”. Even though the group is starting to deteriorate, we still were amped about our big victory in volleyball against the other Albuquerque MAB group the night before. (BIG TIME “W”) We made our daily trek to St. Martins to serve breakfast and other things to help and this time was greeted by a homeless man complimenting the hanging tiger tails off our hot soccer mom mobiles. Sara just learned how to spell mobiles.
We found a coffee shop that donated majority of their proceeds to St. Martins, so we decided to take a little caffeine break. Majority of the group then chugged their coffee and were bouncing off the walls. We decided to channel the energy into a jam session on the way back to Joy Junction proceeded by a leprechaun leaping contest. *laugh* We then spent the day hanging with the little kids at Joy Junction (our JJ crew ;) *laughs again*). Today was a short day due to us finishing everything that we were asked to do. The group is starting to become emotional due to the fact that we are leaving on Saturday as well as slap happy due to Sara’s snort laugh. (It’s one of a kind, let me tell ya.) Mike continues to play the childish game of “Tap someone’s left shoulder and then run to make it look like it wasn’t Mike who tapped my left shoulder.” The group is becoming a family. More of a family than anyone thinks. We have the best group in all of the MAB trips, and we mean it. We already know that we are better than one of the groups. (Cough other Albuquerque group Cough Cough) How many more to go? 68 more to go. We’re currently having a family “Roast” fest. Devyn keeps screaming “WELCOME TO THE SHOW!” If anyone knows how to help us shut this guy up, contact our MAB leaders. At night, we went to “OldTown”, for you slower readers, this is in fact an old town. A very. Old. Town. We ate dinner at a cafĂ© and enjoyed multiple rounds of What are The Odds with Tabasco sauce. We found out Ben Affleck has a brother…who knew? Rachel, our site leader and mother of the trip, misplaced the group credit cards, so she put a $100+ dollar tab on her own debit card. (What a true mom!) The bummer about that whole situation was she found the credit card in the car as we were leaving. She’s going to have that $(100) tab on her debit card report for a while.
Well folks, We hope you enjoyed Thursday’s blog. We will be home safely to Columbia in two days. Wish us luck for when Nick drives. (Lord help us all.)
Signed,
The Youngins of the group.
PS: The two youngins who wrote this are obviously not journalism majors, so cut us some slack here.
