Twin Cities (Minneapolis) - Women's Advocacy (1)

We woke up early Sunday morning to go to the YMCA for showers. While we expected a smooth process, someone was determined to make sure we left smelling the same way we came in. After some troubleshooting, we were able to get access to very exclusive, hot showers.
Our fellow participants made us breakfast—buffet style. 'Twas delicious. Before we starting our free day, we went to the church service, which was a different for us. Nevertheless, they have welcomed us with blow up mattresses, sheets and two kitchens.
Our free day was spent at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and on Grand Ave. in St. Paul. MIA was huge, but it had a lot of intersectionality pieces and women-friendly art. In St. Paul, Avalon was a cool, quirky shop with primarily fair trade products and a collection of items that included people of color—something that we don't see too often. We passed by a bookstore that was hosting a congratulatory event for about five high schools' Muslim Student Association's having female presidents. We definitely gave some high fives for that. We finished our day at The Tea Garden where we reflected and took in the environment. Although we only got a sneak peak, the Twin Cities seem to offer a plethora of multicultural activities. Which, ya know, makes sense for our multicultural trip.
Stay tuned!

Posting up at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
Casual twinning. We are the most stylish trip, obviously.
