Telluride - Adaptive Sports (3)

We woke up today to an inch of fresh powder on the ground. Not bad for a week with highs in the 50s.

Not a lot of lessons at TASP today, so most of our group kept ourselves busy helping out at other nonprofits around town.

Elena had a follow-up lesson with the skier she worked with Tuesday, and a few others headed up to the TASP office to help with organizing, filing and something ominously known as "The Project," which is really just a lot of scanning. The other eight of us spent most of our day down the gondola.  We picked up trash around town (in the snow, no less) and ended up making a surprise radio appearance on the local community station.

We are cute.

In the afternoon, most of the team headed over to the Telluride Historical Museum, which just closed down for the end of the season. Over there, we helped out with spring cleaning and were treated to our own private tour. After volunteering, we headed out for a quick mountain hike. The boys convinced us to do some backcountry hiking, which basically consisted of going straight up a mountain. The views were worth it, despite a few (read: many) run-ins with thorns and some high altitude induced huffing and puffing.

Tomorrow we'll be back at TASP for a full day of teaching and skiing. This is it, y'all.
