Taos - Habitat for Humanity (1)

Today, we had the opportunity to go white water rafting in the Rios Grande.  Not only was this a great bonding experience, it was a fun way to learn about the history and culture of Taos.  We exhibited a level of teamwork that is not normally evident in a traditional school setting because in this case, we were putting our individual levels of safety as well as the other group member's safety at risk too.  By working together, we were able to keep the raft afloat and familiarize ourselves with the beautiful history of Taos.  We also got the chance to visit the Bandelier National Monument, which allowed us to literally witness the historical routes of Taos Pueblo.  Our team members helped each other out of their comfort zones by climbing into the cave dwellings together.  We even got a few good pictures from it!  We are so excited to start our day tomorrow at the build site, and look forward to working with Habitat for Humanity.
