San Antonio - Homelessness/Poverty (2)

Hey friends!

Today was our first day of serving at the Children's Shelter in San Antonio, Texas. We rolled out of bed a little earlier than we're used to, but by the time we arrived at the shelter, we were excited to start working.

We split into groups of two to three people, each going to different areas of the children's shelter.

Four people helped with organizing clothes and books for the whole shelter, three people helped with infants and toddlers, two people helped with the early education age group and the last group of two helped in the elementary education room.

Already, after just one day, this experience has begun to build character, and it's awesome to see how the team has grown together in the last three days.

We bonded even more as a team today, developing plenty of inside jokes, sharing funny stories and learning more about each other. We wrapped up our exhausting and fun day with a game of Mafia, and I think it's safe to say we're all happy to be here.

Thanks to our fearless leaders, Kate and Jordan, for spurring growth and creativity.
(Site Leader edit: Thanks to our flawless participants for being the best ever.)
