Hey there, friends and family of the Omahomies!
We had a magnificent Monday: today we served at Hearts United for Animals in Auburn, Nebraska. Apparently, March 23rd is National Puppy Day, which was appropriate considering the fact that we spent most of our day playing with PILES of puppies (okay, not actual piles, but pretty close!) We split up into groups; some of us went to socialize with big dogs outside, others kept smaller dogs company inside, and still others helped care for cats and many puppy mill victims in their shelters. Throughout the day, we provided immense emotional support for hundreds of dogs of all ages: from five-week-old puppies to nineteen-year-old rescues, our loving presence was definitely felt at Hearts United.
We’ll be heading back tomorrow to dive headfirst into more hands-on work, and we can’t wait to provide even more support for our animal friends and the kind people that care for them day in and day out!
