Day two down!
Besides our amazing experience at Boys & Girls Club thus far on our trip, one of the coolest parts of our trip has been how close our groups has gotten in just the four days we have been together. Literally, in the sense of our car rides and bunk beds, and figuratively, in our late night chats and endless life talks. We truly do feel we are one MAB family and have made friends for life! Truly, the only tension has been in our mafia games, where Justin is repetitively killed off first round and Carly has managed to manipulate a win most of the games.
Our work today at the Club (goin' up…on a Tuesday….) was again full of inspirational work with our kids. We cleaned the walls of the building so that later in the week we can decorate and create culture for the Club. We met Destiny, a 15 year old aspiring to go into psychology and occupational therapy. We got to teach "Money Matters" to some of the high school students, including the importance of saving money and clipping coupons. Mr. Nick, an employee form another Boys & Girls Club, came to observe and take pictures of the club. Alexis Shannon is a high schooler who drew Kayla, Arielle, and Taylor's portraits, she has some serious talent. Each of us has found our own favorite kids to play with, and the smiles they can put on our face is so inspirational!
Tonight's #TacoTuesday dinner was a favorite for us all, and as we reflect on all of our funny stories for the day, we are excited to venture to Boys & Girls Club Nashville headquarters downtown with Ms. Tammy! Tomorrow, we are also SO excited for our 11th team member to join us in the morning (and eat some world famous pancakes)!
